Door 407 is thrilled today to launch the hit RTS game Diplomacy is Not An Option into 1.0 after over two years in early access! The 1.0 launch brings with it a full campaign featuring dozens of missions, multiple factions, meaningful decisions and over 100 hours of story content. Diplomacy is Not an Option is available now on Steam, the Epic Games Store, GOG and Humble for $29.99/£24.99/€28.99, with an additional 35% off discount on all stores until October 18. Watch the all-new launch trailer and ready your soldiers for the battle of a lifetime!
Set in a medieval fantasy realm, Diplomacy is Not an Option is a base-building survival RTS with an active pause, where your choices decide the destiny of the world. Players step into the well-worn shoes of the minor Lord, forced to fight…like, all the time! And always outnumbered! With over 25,000 enemies ready to attack your castle, you’ll need to build your walls, raise loyal armies, and battle on an entirely new scale. If you hope to survive, you’ll have to master engineering, your economy, and even magic.
Diplomacy is Not an Option has received “Very Positive” Steam user reviews since launching into early access in February 2022, building a dedicated community of players. The game’s 1.0 launch features the complete story campaign, bringing its total content to over 100 hours of gameplay.
1.0 Features:
Over 30 hours of content in a single playthrough
Over 100 hours of content in total across more than 25 missions
Three factions to play as in their respective story arcs at launch, with more coming in future updates
Multiple choices that shape the story in different ways
Six possible endings to experience at launch, with more coming in future updates
A variety of mission goals: From defending your castle, attacking enemy cities, and building your settlement in harsh conditions to escort missions, killing massive bosses, and constructing unique monuments
Twitch integration is also available today with 1.0! Streamers leading raids onto other streams will appear with their followers as in-game raiders trying to take down the town hall. Other features include reinforcements for channel subscriptions, as well as special events Twitch viewers can vote on, like giant crab attacks or a sudden influx (or disappearance…) of resources.
Diplomacy is Not An Option will continue to receive development support after today’s 1.0 release. Things to look forward to in future updates include a map editor, new levels in sandbox mode, new challenges, and endless mode. The first major update will also include the undead as a playable faction for the first time.
