BioWare details accessibility settings for Dragon Age: The Veilgaurd.

Today, BioWare shared a host of accessibility features coming to Dragon Age: The Veilgaurd that will allow players to enjoy the game on their terms, regardless of skill level or ability.

During character creation, players can choose from one of five deeply curated difficulty levels or create a fully customized setting as well.

The difficulty levels are as follows:

  • Storyteller: you are just here for the story.

  • Keeper: a balanced mode that emphasizes party composition and equipment over reaction times.

  • Adventurer: a balanced experience that places emphasis on combat, party composition, and equipment choices.

  • Underdog: here to be pushed to the limit, requiring strategic planning and tactical decisions.

  • Nightmare: overwhelming battles that give no quarter. Requires a mastery of combat, equipment, skills, and game mechanics to survive.

However, selecting Nightmare cannot be undone without starting a new playthrough, so choose carefully.

Unbound; however, is where players can choose from a variety of settings that impact numerous aspects of gameplay.

Even after players have chosen a difficulty setting, there are additional combat options to make further adjustments. You can adjust settings such as increasing parry timing, aim assist strength, or the aggressiveness of your enemies.

UI and HUD elements also offer a choice of different settings. Many elements of the HUD can be disabled entirely if that is something you enjoy. Such elements consist of the player's health bar, objective tracker, or even the mini-map. You can also adjust the size of the UI itself. Other settings that can be changed are subtitles, speaker names, and visual indicators for incoming attacks. Additional settings for those with vision deficiencies are here as well, with options for full-screen color filters to improve visibility.

Those who suffer from motion sickness will have persistent dot options and motion blur can be disabled as well. Camera shake can be removed entirely or amped up to full. A FOV slider will also be included. Players can also remap all controls for both controller and keyboard. Input sensitivity and deadzones have customizable sliding scales to adjust it to your preferred setting.
