Today Saber Interactive and 3D Realms are excited to release a new Steam demo for the upcoming real-time strategy game Tempest Rising as part of TactiCon, the digital strategy convention. Storm the battlefield and experience the second missions for Tempest Rising’s two epic single-player campaigns. Discover new units and features from the game’s asymmetrical factions while getting a fresh taste of its explosive action and story!
In the Global Defense Forces mission “The Hornets' Nest,” you’ll take control of the local battalion to bring down a major Tempest Dynasty operation in Iceland while experimenting with the Riot Van, Engineer, and Beacon Support Power. On the other side of the war, in the Tempest Dynasty mission “The Informant,” you’ll wage an all-out battle to wrest a captured base and captive operative away from the enemy, all while learning about the Boar tank, Technician minelaying, and the Dynasty Power Plant’s Distribution Mode ability. The demo also introduces Doctrines and Combat Loadout – a new system that lets players customize their army between missions to better suit how they want to approach the challenges ahead.
The Tempest Rising demo will be available on Steam for the duration of TactiCon, ending on July 22.
About Tempest Rising
Tempest Rising seamlessly merges the classic action of real-time strategy (RTS) games from the ‘90s and 2000s with modern production and performance standards. Encounter a battle-scarred 1997 in an alternate timeline where the Cuban Missile Crisis went nuclear. In the fallout from the war, a strange red electrical vine known as Tempest started spreading across the planet and changed the course of history.
Tempest Rising gives players full command as they build up their bases, lead armies into battle, and execute bold strategies to emerge victorious. Experience the story of two different factions across two campaigns with deep and rewarding gameplay that keeps the focus on strategy and skill, with built-in customization options that let players approach the game their own way in both single-player and multiplayer.
Key Features:
Classic RTS base-building with fast, fluid, hard-hitting combat and tons of customization
Command two asymmetrical factions, each featuring unique harvesting models, resource systems, and distinct rosters of units for drastically different playstyles
Two epic single-player campaigns with between-mission cutscenes to drive the story
Skirmish and multiplayer modes, including matchmaking with Glicko-2 rating
